MISSION STATEMENT

Thirty years ago, the Századvég Foundation was established as a manifestation of the intellectual profile of the young generation playing an active role in the regime change of Hungary. The foundation which initially specialized in journal and book publishing and education strove to spread the values of progressive Hungarian political traditions and the models of European development.

This founding generation played a crucial role in laying down the foundations of the democratic Hungarian constitutional state and market economy. Hungary still needs knowledgeable young professionals with an in-depth knowledge of the country and skills to interpret European trends. As governmental decisions are becoming increasingly complex, the research and analysis of the social conditions underlying decisions are indispensable for the development of a successful national strategy. Therefore, it is the mission of the Foundation to provide assistance for the resolution of these strategic issues through training, information, research and international networking.
